An amazing set of events took place in Italy recently!
In cooperation with Impact Hub Milan, Florence and Rome, professor Max Oliva held three workshops on “design thinking for social innovation”.
Impact Hub is a global network of people, places, and programs that inspire, connect and catalyze impact. Part innovation lab, part business incubator, and part community center, we offer our +7,000 members in +60 cities across all 5 continents a unique ecosystem of resources, inspiration, and collaboration opportunities to grow impact.
Some of the questions that brought together IE alumni, candidates and people who “gravitate” around the Impact Hub ecosystem were:
How might we provide drinkable water to low income rural communities?
How might we provide premature baby incubation solutions for the Base of the Pyramid?
How might we create a process and culture which enables innovation to be at the core of our organization, be it from a social enterprise, a responsible business or a cross collaboration with unlikely allies?
During this workshop, we learned the key concepts of Design Thinking with a focus on social innovation, experimenting with collective creativity, and practicing with key tools to apply in future social challenges.
