Master in Finance students, Josy Mazzucchielo (Italy), Daniel Schneider (Germany) and Adrien Tamagno (France), came second in the 6th Edition of the BNP Paribas Ace Manager competition. The competition hosted 21,200 young people from all over the world.

The initial phase of the competition required the teams to perform various tasks related to three business areas that the BNP Paribas Group operate in: Corporate and Investment Banking, Investment Solutions and Retail Banking. For this, the teams were given a series of case studies, and were required to find the best solution to assist each of the clients in developing their business.

The final took place simultaneously in BNP Paribas offices in Madrid, Shanghai and Beijing, and the president of BNP Paribas Spain, Ramiro Mato, and Laurent Couradaun, Regional Director for Asia, were present to congratulate the teams for having made it to the final of such a prestigious the competition.

Ramiro Mato said of the competition and IE Business School’s success, “It is of great pleasure for BNP Paribas to collaborate with this initiative, and we are delighted that a team of IE Business School students is amongst the world’s best in this competition.”

The final itself was split into two parts. The morning of final day required the teams to work on a financial case in connection with all three business areas of the BNP Paribas Group. Secondly, the afternoon saw the teams asked to reinvent the customer relationship and come up with innovative products and services to accompany this. Thereafter, the teams faced the ultimate challenge as they had to present the final case before a panel of specialists from the BNP Paribas Group.

In the end, each of the finalists were rewarded for their efforts. First place received 6000€ and a trip to Paris, second 3000€ and third 1,500€. In addition, all teams were given tickets for BNP Paribas sponsored tennis events.
