IE Ukraine steered the debate on the topic of Entrepreneurship and Intrapreneurship. Whether that is something that can be learnt or the talent we are born with. As well as whether entrepreneurship can be nurtured inside of big corporations and how.
IE Alumni, students and candidates met in cosy informal atmosphere to debate. Tetyana Kretova, IE Country Representative in Russia and Ukraine moderated the talk highlighting how IE makes entrepreneurship an integral part of all educational programs. The event has been hosted and co organised with StartUP Ukraine, the most significant in the country incubator and educational center for star ups.
On the second hour the originally planned as an hour event moved into the informal dinner. The key idea and take out became that according to Anna Petrova, CEO of Start Up Ukraine ¨entrepreneurs WANT to do something¨. Oleg Koss, Global Executive MBA continued that entrepreneurship is definitely a talent stressing though that if he knew back then what he did years ago he would do it differently primarily referring to the financial and business planning of the business.. However, all participants have agreed that the WANT and the TALENT need skills to make things happen.
Natalya Stoyanovych, IMBA alumni, joined MBA from her own company saying that she wanted to learn how to grow the 50 people start up into the several hundred people company. And that´s probably when without the skill and the knowledge you can not move.
Iryna Vovk, Global Executive MBA student from Microsoft Ukraine, said that probably ideas seeking and passion are the fundamentals without which you can not move even a step.
At the end the discussion turned out to become a powerful exchange of thoughts and first hand insights from Samsung, Zara, Electrolux and definitely entrepreneurs.
