Looking back on my first semester at IE, it has been a roller-coaster of a ride. Endless assignments, reports and assessments as well as an intense class schedule that I haven’t experienced anything similar to since High School! All of this I expected, of course, however one of the things I did not expect at IE was how rich and vast the IE network actually is when looking from the inside out. Through my work as an IE fellow and my experience of the breadth and depth of support that current students are given by the school throughout term time, I have been very impressed with everything on offer to help students through their studies AND life after graduation. Considering my previous tertiary education and the alumni networks that I am already a part of, the staff at IE are the first that have made it their aim to provide an all-inclusive experience and offer something very close to a ‘family’, something I have not seen elsewhere in any of the past universities I have studied at. For me, this is one of the most important aspects of post-university life. To know that the institution you are studying at will continue to try and help you as well as appreciate everything and anything that YOU can do for the institution itself, is a priceless commodity in the increasingly connected and globalised world that we live in today. And so, as we enter the New Year, I’m sure we all know how hard it can be to keep some of our resolutions beyond the month of January. However, one thing that I am sure will continue throughout 2014 is the effort and expertise that goes into improving IE Business School for both the current crop of students and the IE Alumni!
Cheers and a Happy New Years!
