For the second year running, but this time with the assistance of Scandinavian consulting company Esentra and our Scandinavian Alumni, the European team in the International Development department organized yet again a hectic tour of Finland, Sweden and then finally Denmark. As a region with a high standard of local free education, only those who seek a more global career and international network tend to leave the region to study abroad, and it was just those potential students that I had the pleasure to meet at our event ´Invest in your global future at IE, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Diversity & CSR under one roof´. The IE stand alone event was attended by record numbers for this region.
Additionally to the events, I spent my days meeting the very top companies in the region, hoping to increase the brand visibility and to create further careers possibilities for our outstanding Alumni who could be interested in working in Scandinavia on leaving IE. Following the advice of some of our local Alumni, we met with some of the most important Scandinavian companies such as Neste Oil Oyj (Finland), Nokia (Finland), SEB (Sweden), Ruukki (Rautaruukki Corporation) (Sweden), H&M (Sweden) and Darlberg (Denmark), along with some of top International consultancy companies such McKinsey (Finland) and Accenture (Finland). In order to also discover more about the legal field, I also met with Roschier (Finland), Advokatfirman Vinge (Sweden) and Horten (Denmark).
Last but not least, in the field of education, I was also warmly welcomed by the Copenhagen Business School, Stockholm School of Economics, Financial and Insurance Institute FINVA(Finland) and KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), to share ideas about possible collaborations and exchanges. Finally, as bright and enthusiastic as ever, the Presidents of AIESEC in both Sweden and Finland also took time out to explain their exciting upcoming events for their members.
