Central and Eastern Europe is still struggling with advancing towards a sustainable, meaningful future. Still, the CEE area has an awesome opportunity ahead: creating an innovative future built upon the deepest convictions of what’s meaningful rather than a preset model.
The people in this region have the ideas, the energy and the enthusiasm for making change possible, while sometimes lacking the resources, experience and expertise already in place in Western Europe or other parts of the world.
Unlike other markets, this region is in the very first stages of learning and implementing business models into the social minded projects.
The ambition is to increase the number of sustainable social venture, building capacity within these organizations as well as increasing the awareness in the corporate and private sector regarding the benefits of impact investment as a more sustainable and durable way of developing the local communities we live in.

About the author
Andra has been working in business development within the education sector for the past 5 years, covering first the CEE markets and currently managing the Nordics in terms of recruiting candidates for IE. She also has experience in the healthcare industry, after 2 years dedicated to a cross-departmental assignment at Air Liquide Spain. After graduating as a Valedictorian the Bachelor Degree in Management at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, where she originally is from, she took on an international experience in Madrid. This city has been home to her for the past 9 years and this is where she graduated from her Master in International Business, at Carlos III University. Andra is passionate about skiing, reading and traveling, with a curiosity for new cultures and understanding human behaviors.
