IE Financial Aid Director, Joel McConnell, had a one-week trip to Turkey in February. Together with IE Turkey Representative, Sevtap Bas, Financial Aid Info Sessions were delivered to prospective candidates in both Istanbul and Ankara.
Top universities have been visited in order to develop academic relationships in Turkey. There will be several collaborations with these universities including student exchange programs and some partnership opportunities in Entrepreneurship area might arise in the near future. Having one of the youngest populations in Europe and CIS region, Turkish qualified workforce is becoming more attractive for international companies. Therefore, Turkish professionals are actively looking for graduate studies abroad in order to increase their opportunity in global job market. IE has proven its commitment to having more Turkish students via exchange programs and several scholarship agreements with these universities.
Alliances in education area between Spain and Turkey have been discussed with directors from Ministry of National Education and The Council of Higher Education (YOK). Please note that all Bachelor, Masters, and Doctorate programs at IE are recognized by YOK.
HR people from top banks and companies have been visited to confirm IE’s support to career development of its Alumni. Furthermore, there might be collaborations in Executive Education area with these companies. IE will be attending several events of PERYON, leading HR association in Turkey, which will strengthen IE’s ties with companies in Turkey.
There is a high possibility to sign a scholarship contract with a Foundation in Turkey, which will give high potential Turkish candidates to obtain scholarships for their studies at IE.
There are some upcoming events in March in Turkey: IE University will be attending to IEFT Fairs in Ankara (18 March), Izmir (20 March), and Istanbul (24&25 March). Come and meet us!
