IE Business School is on its first visit to Lithuania the Southernmost of the three Baltic States. International Development Director for Europe & CIS, Deise Leobet, is in the country meeting companies, institutions and young professionals interested in establishing close ties with IE, one of the world`s leader think-tank in innovation, venture creation and corporate social responsibility.

Among the institutions she has already met is the Investors’ Forum, a national business association which works as an umbrella organization for foreign investors and all businesses operating in Lithuania. Created in 1999, the mission of the Investors’ Forum is to “improve business environment and investment climate in Lithuania, through cooperation with public institutions and the business community”.

Ruta Skyierné, Investor’s Forum Executive Director, and Andzelika Vysockaja, Communications Coordinator, have met with IE representatives to discuss possible cooperation. “There’s a lot of interest in Lithuania nowadays on Corporate Social Responsibility issues and we are happy to partner with an institutions like IE”, said Mrs Skyriené.

As part of IE’s agenda in Lithuania, Deise also met with Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists (LPK) representatives. The organization represents more than 2,5 thousand businesses in the country, from SME’s to large corporations, representing several sectors, including transportation, textile, agroindustry. Meeting IE this Tuesday April a5th were LPK Foreign Relations Director, Aurelijus Useckas, and Associate Director Juraté Miskinyté. On the agenda, they discuss possible colaboration in organizating local seminars and conferences to the country’s top executives and companies.

“There’s definetely room for working on Lithuanian’s entrepreneurial spirit to help boosting the country’s economy,” said Mr. Useckas.
