Wine tasting session in Lisbon, December 2010
As the cold of December welcomes the presence of good wines, IE Portugal Club organized a wine tasting session complimented with regional Portuguese cheeses. Guided by two experienced wine producers, we started our journey with sparkling wines, ending it with the famous Oporto wine. Among the wines presented, we were pleased to have two wines produced by IE´s Alumni!
Quinta do Pinto Branco 2008 alongside being considered one of the best white wines of the year was honored with the distinction “Revelation Producer of the Year” by the influential magazine “Vinhos de Portugal”, a publication led by the distinguished enologist Paulo Martins. (www.quintadopinto.pt)
Casa de Vilaverde – 2008 Vinho Verde, a blend of Arinto, Loureiro and Trajadura casts received a score of 90 points from the prestigious wine magazine Wine & Spirits. This wine was also selected as one of the “100 Top Values of the Year” (www.casadevilaverde.pt)
IE Law School at Association of Portuguese Law Firms, Lisbon, February 2011
Invited by the Association of Portuguese Law Firms, IE Law School’s Marisa Méndez gave a talk at Vieira de Almeida Sociedade de Advogados. Professor Mendez’ talk, addressed to partners and senior lawyers of circa 20 Portuguese law firms and entitled “Independent law firms vs Global law firms”, gave an insight into the most appropriate strategies for independent law firms, focusing on US, UK and European independent firms, that seek to be successful in a globalised environment.
